The French President congratulates Sidney on his 100th Birthday!

Congratulations to our client Sidney who proudly turned 100 this week and had a wonderful party with his family, many of whom he has not seen for over 2 years due to the pandemic!Joined by family from Australia, Scotland and other far-flung parts, Sidney had an extra special surprise when he received a personally signed photo of President Macron in celebration of his 100 years.A note from President Macron gave personal thanks to Sidney for his part in the liberation of France during the war. In 2016 Sidney was awarded the prestigious and highest French honour, the Legion D’honneur, for his role in the decoy operation for the  D – Day Landings.With a card from the Queen and letter from the master of the Royal household too, this special chap had a well-deserved special day.His daughter Wendy said: “It was lovely to have all the family together for such a lovely party, especially after the last two years of separations and lockdown.

“Our father’s live-in carer Sibel, from SweetTree, has made a huge difference to his life and has been great throughout all this time. She knows what he needs and when he needs it, he is in such great shape due to all her intuition and attention. We are enormously proud of our father but also very thankful to Sibel and care manager Polly for all their support.”
