Cultivating confidence

It can be very powerful on many levels and as a care provider, focused on stimulation, socialisation and helping people live their lives to the full, at SweetTree this was an interesting area for us to explore and in the summer of 2013, SweetTree Farming For All, a not for profit organisation, was launched.
Our clients are invited to visit the farm and take part in the activities. This includes individuals being supported by our specialist learning disabilities team and our dementia care team.
Our aim is to support people to lead an active and fulfilling life and to reach their full potential, The activities on offer at SweetTree Fields are a great way to develop new skills, while meeting new people and building confidence, all within a beautiful outdoor setting.
The feedback we have received from clients has been fantastic. From gardening and planting, to building bird boxes, herding sheep, making homemade focaccia bread and taking part in a woodland walk, it’s a lot of fun while having wider benefits on so many levels.

The team at SweetTree would like to say a huge thank you to Jude Allen, who undertook the mammoth challenge of completing twelve marathons in twelve months, running over 310 miles in total.
Her efforts raised over £10k in sponsorship and donations that will be used to help even more people to access and benefit from horticultural and animal therapy.
