Andzelika Koman - Care co-ordinator

Andzelika first worked for SweetTree as a care assistant and has now taken on a care coordinator role, liaising between the clients, carers and the office team. Andzelika is originally from Poland and enjoys traveling and spending time with her fiends and “two crazy sisters who live in London as well. 

Barry Sweetbaum - Managing Director

Barry is the founder and managing director of SweetTree and is responsible for the company’s business development and corporate affairs. When he is not at SweetTree he enjoys being at home with his wife and two children.
 

Bhanu Gorasiya - Assistant Accountant

Bhanu recently joined SweetTree to take on the payroll, invoices and general accounts. With over 6 years accounts experience Bhanu is looking forward to helping set up new systems to ensure SweetTree’s finance department runs accurately and smoothly at all times. She enjoys speaking to clients and carers on a daily basis and in her spare time likes spending time with her nieces and nephews, travelling, swimming, seeing movies and cooking. 

Dela Begum - Learning Disabilities Service Manager

After joining SweetTree as a carer specialising in supporting people with learning disabilities, Dela became the company’s office manager. In 2004 she left to work in the voluntary sector, managing a home for adults with learning disabilities. She now heads SweetTree’s learning disabilities service. She enjoys shopping and cooking and dislikes cold weather and travelling. 

Dorota Kucala - Administration Assistant

Dorota is a SweetTree carer as well as a provider of part-time administrative support for the company – particularly in the management and co-ordination of employee visit records. Originally from Poland, she is now happily settled in the UK with her husband and two children. 

Eva Heinischova - Care Co-ordinator

Eva joined SweetTree recently as a Care-Coordinator, as she has past experience in the role. Her goal is to learn the names of all the clients and carers by heart as she says “from my experience this is very important to be successful in this job.” Eva is from the Czech Republic and enjoys cooking and reading.  

Helen Babalola - Care Coordinator / Support Worker

Helen has worked at SweetTree for over two years since coming to England from Nigeria 8 years ago. Helen loves to bring smiles to the faces of her clients and enjoys being challenged in her work. Helen believes she was born to care and works hard to help clients live the life they choose regardless of their disability or level of dependency. At home, Helen likes to read and cook and also volunteers at her local church supporting people with special needs.  

Jake Dane - Senior Brain Injury Support Worker

Jake is originally from New Zealand and has recently taken on an administration role in the office, but is also a support worker for SweetTree’s Brain Injury Service helping people to access the community and achieve their goals. In his spare time Jake likes to travel and play his guitar.  

Justin Burmeister - Brain Injury Service Manager

Justin has recently joined SweetTree to co-ordinate and oversee the support provided to clients with brain injuries. He has many years experience in helping brain injured people improve their quality of life, and has a particular interest in rehabilitation and supporting people keen to return to work or participate in volunteer programmes. He enjoys travelling. 

Laura Morelli - Administration Assistant

Laura was introduced to the SweetTree team after she gave a talk at the Learning Disabilities Service launch on behalf of Mencap about her experiences as a person with learning disabilities. She works as an administration assistant as well as assisting with the Learning Disabilities Service. Laura also played the character of June in the film Last Orders with Helen Mirren and Michael Caine.  

Lisa Downes - Care Manager, RGN

Lisa joined the SweetTree team in October 2007 following her role as a nurse in a neurological rehabilitation and palliative care service. She has extensive experience in working with adults with an Acquired Brain Injury as well as those with neurological illnesses such as MS. She is looking forward to working in the community as part of the SweetTree nursing team and is hoping to use her 11 years of healthcare experience when out and about assisting clients. Lisa is also interested in complimentary therapy and is currently learning Reiki Healing in her spare time. She loves to spend time with her family and friends and enjoys going to gigs. 

Maureen Dunning - Lead on Neurological Conditions

Maureen originally trained as a physiotherapist and has spent most of her career working with people with neurological disease, but has also worked with social services and managed a residential home. Maureen recently took on the role of Head of Specialist Services at SweetTree, and is looking forward to providing a service that enables people to reach their maximum level of independence in the community.  

Mira Kubiec - Nowckowska - Admin. Assistant

Mira has been a SweetTree carer and office manager and she is now responsible for supporting carers through the recruitment process. A qualified accountant in Poland, she is married and enjoys travelling. 

Nicki Bones (RMN) - Training and Quality Assurance Manager

Nicki was one of SweetTree’s founding members and now manages the company’s training and quality assurance. Nicki is a qualified nurse, moving/handling trainer, and NVQ assessor. She is married to Phil and they have two children.
 

Paulina Banas - Senior Support Worker

Paulina has been working with SweetTree since December 2003. Since then she has completed a degree in Cognitive Science and moved from elderly care to the specialist services. Paulina works with brain injured clients and helps to set up and overview large care packages. Paulina recently won the Ceretas National Home Care Award for Care Worker of the Year in London. She loves travelling, and has recently visited India, Nepal and Bhutan. 

Phil Bones - Driver/Handyman/Telecare Technician

Phil’s roles at SweetTree are various and diverse, but he spends much of his time helping clients with DIY around the house or driving them to appointments or shopping. He is also responsible for installing and maintaining SweetTree’s Telecare support. He is married to Nicki and is a passionate golfer.
 

Rebecca Pearson - Communications Manager

Rebecca joined the SweetTree team in November 2008, having graduated in 2007 with a BA in Theatre Studies from Lancaster University. She is responsible for the coordination of SweetTree’s communications between team members, clients and the wider community. She will also be working closely with both Barry and Nicki, supporting them in their daily tasks. Rebecca enjoys the theatre, playing sport and most importantly, socialising! 

Sally Evans - Financial Controller

With over eight years experience in commercial finance, Sally manages SweetTree’s accounts department. She enjoys reading, studying Danish, and spending time with her family.  

Sandy Seymour (RGN, NDN) - Care Manager

A nurse and qualified moving/ handling assessor, Sandy carries out client assessments, reassessments and follow-up visits. She advises clients and their families on clinical issues as well as providing staff supervision and appraisals. Her main focus is northeast, southeast and east London. Sandy is married with two grown-up children, and she enjoys travelling, cooking and family time. 

Sarah Johnson (RGN,NDN,RHV) - Care Service Manager

Sarah holds overall responsibility for our clients’ care and support, and in addition to leading the clinical team she oversees clients living in northwest, southwest and west London. She enjoys spending time with her son.  

Sharon Horvath - Care Supervisor

As a senior member of the care team, Sharon oversees the care and support provided for clients and their relatives in the Central London area. She is a qualified moving/handling trainer and this brings her into contact with a wide variety of clients and carers. A keen cat lover, she enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends. 

Sian King - Care Team Support Manager

Sian handles the recruitment and development of our care team to ensure that working with SweetTree is a life-changing experience – for carers as well as clients. She loves drawing and has created most of the cards we send out.
