SweetTree Home Care Services has been operating since 2002, providing the highest quality care and support to people in their own homes. In SweetTree's latest inspection report we received the highest rating from CSCI thanks to our hard working and dedicated care team.

We take steps to ensure every member of our team is given opportunities to continually learn news skills and enhance the skills they already have, through free training and guidance. Whether you are a student or a parent looking to earn a little extra money in your spare time or searching for a long-term career in care SweetTree would love to hear from you. We have a vast array of work from 2 hours live-out visits to 24 hour live-in care and all of our care team work on a highly flexible contract basis.

A member of the SweetTree Care Team recently won a nomination into the finals for the national Best Care Worker in London Awards and we regularly throw celebratory parties for carers that have gained NVQ's or other outstanding achievements. We also host events for all our team especially over the holiday season and encourage social networks because at SweetTree we understand that when you work as hard as we do, it is just as important to have fun! In 2009 SweetTree achieved Investors in People status. This national award recognises organisations that put effort and resources into improving performance through team development. It is a whole company approach to performance improvement where everybody works together to deliver SweetTree's vision.

SweetTree has also been recognised as having a very high level of staff engagement and at the start of 2010 was awarded the 'Best Companies to Work For' accreditation. This accreditation is very important to SweetTree as it signifies our commitment to our most important asset - SweetTree team members.

JOINING OUR TEAM...

SweetTree's recruitment process is designed to be as fast and efficient as possible. Office team members, dedicated to recruitment, work hard to ensure each applicant is carefully reviewed and taken through each process. After your initial enquiry you will be asked to fill out an application form (attached with this information pack). If you are successful you will be invited into the office for an interview and to organise reference and CRB checks (see below for more information on CRB). Whilst awaiting reference and CRB clearance you will be invited to SweetTree's offices to participate in our award winning training and induction programme.

We regularly review our staff salaries and there is always the opportunity for increases in pay for those that demonstrate exceptional ability, a long term commitment or undergo further training. CARING THE SWEETTREE WAY…

SweetTree has an award winning in-house training team that will take you through your first few weeks as a SweetTree Team Member. If you are successful after the application and interview you will be invited to attend a two day Induction Training course. This will be followed by one day Moving and Handling Training, which is a legal requirement for anyone working in domiciliary care. If are applying for a specialist role such as Brain Injury, Learning Disabilities, Dementia or Neurological Conditions Support Worker you will be also required to attend one days specialist course.

These courses are undertaken in the training suite at SweetTree's offices and are usually held from 10am-5pm with lunch provided. These courses are a great chance to meet the office staff and other care workers and are always enjoyable. On completion you will receive a certificate from the training team and will be ready to start work.


training calendar may 2010SweetTree also run ongoing training throughout the year to ensure all everyone has the opportunity to update and extend their knowledge. The training team have a calendar for each month (see left) with various training sessions and days available to all. Opportunities for training will be sent to you and if you would like to participate please contact the office and book yourself on the course of your choice.

Training courses on offer include: First Aid, Administration of Medication, Understanding Dementia, supporting those with challenging behaviour, Stoma and Catheter care, Understanding Parkinson's disease, NVQ's in Health and Social Care and many more.

SWEETTREE'S SPECIALIST SERVICES

SweetTree also runs specialist services for people with learning disabilities and those who have brain injuries or neurological illnesses. There are opportunities to work in these specialist services dependent on your experience and interest. If you would like further training in these areas or are interesting in working with people with learning disabilities or brain injuries, then please let one of the recruitment team know.

COMMUNICATION

One of the key skills SweetTree recruitment department look for is the ability to communicate. At SweetTree we have high expectations of all our team members and believe an important part of being part of the team is to show respect, not only to our clients but to those we work with. If at any time you are unable to make an appointment, or will be late in meeting one of the team please call the office and let someone know. SweetTree run a 24 hour a day / 7 days a week on call service so there will always be someone at the end of the phone to assist you.
